Clark Metal machinist delivers technical presentation to ICTC students.
- March 10, 2017
On Friday, March 10th Jim O’Hearn, a CNC Machinist for Clark Metal Products, designed a project for the HAAS mill at the Indiana County Technology Center. During his presentation to 21 machining students, Jim demonstrated how to set-up the mill using machining formulas, tool and offset controls, different ways to thread holes, running a part from start to finish as well as inspecting a part. Everything a machinist would experience on a shop floor! The students asked questions from how and why things are done on the machine to everyday shop practices Jim faces on his current job. The Indiana County Technology Center invites 2 to 3 guest speakers per year to expose the students to new technology and or operations used in the work force. The technical presentations are designed to provide each student with the latest technological skills need for entry in the metalworking occupations. Clark Metal Products is proud to have our employees chosen to speak to students and community and education leaders, to encourage career paths into rewarding opportunities in manufacturing and the skilled trades.
