What’s so Cool about Manufacturing?
- November 10, 2017
Clark Metal Products will partner with Blairsville Saltsburg School District in the Explore the New Manufacturing Student Video Contest. Schools from Southwestern Pennsylvania are partnered with regional manufacturers to create a video about “What Makes Manufacturing Cool?” The first 8th grade Manufacturing Video contest originated from the “Skill-Up the Student Pipeline Grant” which was awarded to Manufacturer’s Resource Center by Governor Tom Corbett in 2013.
Catalyst Connection launched the Explore New Manufacturing Student Video contest to highlight the exciting career opportunities that exist in manufacturing. The middle school team from Blairsville Saltsburg School District will create a video with the theme – What’s So Cool about Manufacturing? The student videos are shared online and the public votes on their favorites.
In the spring of 2018, a recognition ceremony is held with manufacturers, students, parents, educators and community leaders to present student teams with awards such as Best Manufacturing Message, People’s Choice, Most Creative, and Best Marketing Plan. All of us at Clark are excited about developing a video to promote custom sheet metal fabrication and career opportunities from the perspective of middle school youth.
